Chess in Wrocław, from club rooms to festival rounds
Wrocław plays most of its chess in tournament series. KS Polonia by Hala Targowa runs a Friday Grand Prix and the monthly Pierwszy Krok and Drugi Krok tournaments, Hetman and MUKS MDK Śródmieście play on ul. Świętego Antoniego, and AZS Wratislavia holds its seasonal series on ul. Na Grobli. August belongs to the Adolf Anderssen festival, culture centres from Wojszyce to the Zamek centre teach, and Oława, Długołęka and Oborniki Śląskie keep tournaments of their own.

Chess960 in Wrocław
Over the board, Chess960 reaches Wrocław once a year: the Polish Chess960 Championship is played inside the Adolf Anderssen Chess Festival in August. No club, culture centre or café in the area was found offering it as a regular game.

They draw on the central club register of the Polish Chess Federation, the Lower Silesian Chess Association, the FIDE list of rated tournaments, ChessArbiter and ChessPoint pages, the city’s events calendar and the own sites of clubs and schools. Each source keeps the day its page was read; the most recent reading is dated .
