Wrocław’s tournament year rarely pauses. KS Polonia on ul. Piaskowa plays its Grand Prix on Fridays and fills weekends with the Turniej o Tysiaka and the Pierwszy Krok and Drugi Krok events for younger players. The Otwarte Mistrzostwa Wrocławia run in rounds from February to November on ul. Świętego Antoniego, AZS Wratislavia marks the seasons with its Cykl 4 Pór Roku, and Hetman keeps a race for rating categories going.

August belongs to the Adolf Anderssen Chess Festival, and December brings the Wroclaw Chess Festival and the Wratislavia Classic FIDE Open. The Lower Silesian association runs district leagues, a cup and an inter-university league, while Oborniki Śląskie, Oława, Długołęka and Trzebnica hold cups and championships of their own.
